Why People with Pets are Happy People?

My adopted pet named Orange
Did you know that people with pet are happy people? They´re also usually nice people. Well, that doesn´t mean just because you haven´t got a pet you ain´t nice. You probably are busy, no time to care for a pet, or that the place you live in isn´t conducive for a pet. But let´s say everything is perfect, would you love to have a pet?

Just when I craved to have a cat and my husband adamantly said "No", he found an abandoned cat in a cold, lonely street one Friday of November. It was the beginning of winter and the temperature was starting to get freezing. The cat was sick and clearly needed help. My husband debated not in himself, he quickly brought it home.

We named him Orange because of his color and because we were uncertain of his gender at first. We didn´t know if somebody i looking for him so we waited for a week, hoping that nobody would look for him and take him away from us. But in case somebody did, we were ready to return him. But after a week and we didn´t find anybody looking for him both in public "lost and found" boards and in news papers, we decided to take him as our own. We brought him to the vet to fix his bronchitis, and slowly, he regained his health.

He is currently the joy of our life and the center of our attention. He´s very spoiled especially to dad and is so loved by everyone including grandma. He simply the greatest gift I received last Christmas.

So if you ask me, why people with pets are happy people? It´s simple, there´s someone who always love to snuggle, to pet, and there´s always someone who makes you smile, making you forget any trouble you have. A pet is a perfect distressor.

Having fun with bunnies

I am purely a cat lover, so I thought. They cuddle, they communicate and they are very sweet. I never thought that having bunnies as pets would also be as fulfilling.

Before my boyfriend flew back to Germany, he thought of buying me bunnies. Perhaps the idea came to him so that his departure would not be so painful. He asked me if I would want to take care of bunnies. I shrug at first, not really interested. But the next time he brought the subject up; I thought “why not?” He asked me if I was serious and if I would be ready to take the responsibilities. He knows that when work starts, I would always be busy. But I was already conditioned to have new pets. Thus we went to check for some lovely tiny bunnies.

These are the things I learned after a month of taking care of them.

1. They grow up so quick.
2. They cannot live alone. They need a buddy.
3. They love to play hide and seek. If they are happy, they run around and jump swirling in the air.
4. They have behavior. Just like humans, each bunny is unique.
5. They require too much labor in terms of cleaning, but their presence around the house is so worth it.
6. They are easy to feed. They shouldn’t be given only rabbit feeds most of the time but also vegetables and fruit, otherwise, they would grow obese.

I named them Nouty [because he is very naughty] and Browny [because he is totally brown]. Nouty is very adventurous and playful. He wants to discover things. He is also a prodigal type. It takes skill to be able to touch him. His behavior as a whole is so fun to observe. On the other hand, Browny is very sweet and behave. He loves to cuddle and to touch. Although he is not as adventurous as Nouty, he was the first to find the way to get on my bed. The first time he did a great leap, he was calling Nouty, who was watching down the floor, to follow him.

My cat is a doting mom

I´ve been living abroad for four years now. When I left the Philippines, I had to leave behind my four cats. My cats were unique in there own ways. The eldest was quiet, neat and jealous. The second eldest was playful and a comrade of the first. The third was the most playful, most adventurous and troublesome among the four. The youngest was sickly but the sweetest of all. Yet, even if I had been away from home for such a long; my love for them was always with me. Whenever I made a call to my parents and siblings, I never failed to ask about my cats. I´ve always missed them.

However, when I reached home for the first time since I left, none of my cats were alive. All of them were gone. They were survived by their grandchildren and some great grandchildren. I had been longing to my cats. How sad it was to be met and snuggled only by their children? If it's a compensation, the grandchildren manifested the same characteristics as those of their grandparents and their looks were distributed among the youngs.

Two little kittens greeted me "Myawww!", a sound for "hello" when I entered their territory - a male and a female. The female cat had just bore four kittens. She was such a doting mom that I couldn't resist taking her video.

See her cuddle and breasfeed her little ones. She too, now rests in peace.
