I grew up a nomad. Well, a modern nomad. My parents dragged me and my siblings around the archipelago of my home country, between islands. That explains how I lost my childhood friends. I went to four schools for my elementary education and to four schools in high school, making friends each school year and leaving them behind every end of the year.
It was always difficult as a child to adjust to a new environment. But it was as difficult as an adult not to have a tangible roots, not to be able to tell exactly which hometown I came from, and not to have connections to childhood friends. The memories are all there, but most faces are blurred and names are forgotten.
But recently I stumble a profile in facebook with name that´s very familiar to me. I felt that I knew her back in my childhood days. I added her as friend and left her a message, "your name looks very familiar to me but I´m not sure if we do know each other?" She shortly added me and replied, "we do know each other. We were classmates back in elementary."
It was the start to a long chat, catching up with our classmates. Recalling the names of the others in the class, and thought her, I found some of our other classmates. I also learned from her that a good young boy from our class, when they were in high school, was killed when he went fishing and their boat broke down and sank. It was sad.
But it´s good to know what have become of everyone. There were the mean girls back and our days who always bullied and hated me. I was curious of how they did in their lives. And I had some good laugh. I also realized how much I´ve been blessed. Most importantly, I learned that life is definitely like a wheel. Those who were acting like above me when we were kids, are no longer above me to date.

A tag to reveal something about me

The blogger behind my blogging career has again tagged me. rare*jonRez is a virtual friend and reading her answers to this set of questions was fun. I decided to take my turn so as to make a little shift from my generally, heavy topics.
So here we go…
Do you think you’re hot?
=>I think I am.
What kind of hot, hot mama or hot woman
=> I’m no mama yet so that leaves me with being a hot woman.
Please, upload your favorite picture.
=>I decided today that the photo above is my favorite. I did this graphics myself but it wasn’t really hard. Lol.
Why do you love this picture?
=>Perhaps because it brings across the message that I want to say.
When was the last time you ate pizza?
=>That must be four months ago. That reminds me to get some tonight. Right!
What is the latest song you’ve heard?
=>“In Christ alone will I glory, though I can pride myself in battles won. And I’ve been blessed beyond measure and by His strength alone I overcome.
Oh, I could stop and count successes, like diamonds in my hand. But those trophies could not equal to the grace by which I stand.”
I'm currently at the point where I am bountifully blessed, yet ironically, am drifting spiritually. This song reminds me of what matters most to me.
What is your favorite song?
=>My heart will go on by Celine Dion. Oh, how I love Celine.
What is the most stressful thing to you?
=>When I reap my procrastination.
Mention the three must have items on your purse/bag.
=>Wallet, cell phone, lip gloss.
What is your favorite color/s?
=>Blue, white, black
What is your not-fulfilled-yet dream?
=>To be an expert with guitar [I can play but still has to improve]. And drums too.
What is your favorite city to stay?
=>Bangkok. But I prefer a country side more.
Done. Now I'm passing this tag on to my favorite bloggers: Dorothy L, Eunice A and Leah. Have a great Sunday everyone.

The amazing part of blogging

I am very much thankful to rare*Jonrez, a friend whom I met through friendster, for introducing me to the world of blogging. Through her, I was encouraged to put up my own blog where I can publish all my work collectively. I had several articles published online but they were scattered in different big publishing websites which unfortunately, failed to give me enough satisfaction. But now, here in my blogs, I feel so much at home. I have something tangible I can call my own.
It was with a lot of difficulties that I started putting up my two blog sites, mostly, because of technical issues. For how many times it had caused fights between me and my hubby because of so much time I had to spend for it. But with careful explanation, I was able to earn his support and understanding. Blogging is so much fulfilling. To be able to write and express what I think and what I want without some editors declining it or telling me to revise or edit something is what I call “freedom”. It feels like writing on a diary but with an amazing number of readers out there. And every time I get some comments on my posts, I sit giggling in front of my computer checking who the one behind that comment is so I could return his time and effort. It also feels good to earn a set of loyal visitors who visit me without fail and leave some good words on my shout box. Some people can be just so nice.
Until the past two weeks, when I fell very ill, blogging has become something more than just a diary to me. The nice words that were left on my page wishing me to get well and be back were so inspiring and had helped me to recover. I don’t know much about the blogger behind the pen name that leaves me some smiles, but believe me; they can be so powerful they can touch someone at the end of the line. As Dorothy L puts it, “never underestimate the power of a kind word and a smile”. Indeed, don’t.
So to all the friends who keep visiting me on here, I thank you for your time that even on my absence, you are still dropping by. There are just so many good things and so many good people to be thank for in this world. Cheers!
