Dream Interpretation: Turtle
Last night I saw a turtle in my dream. It was a green, clean and healthy looking turtle. It was guiding my way. I saw myself walking in an unfamiliar narrow road and the turtle was leading me, I was following.
The catchy part of the dream is that somewhere down the road, the turtle took a right turn and left me to continue taking the route that we were supposed to take. "Where are you heading and why are you abandoning me?", I asked. "You already know the way, you can do it now by yourself." He said.
I saw myself wondering what made the turtle left me. I thought I could trust him in leading me.
Whenever I have dreams that stay vivid once I wake up, I try to understand its meaning. So I googled for the dream interpretation of turtle, and this is what I found from Dreammoods.com.
To see a turtle in your dream symbolizes wisdom, faithfulness, longevity, and loyalty. It also suggests that you need to take it slow in some situation or relationship in your life. With time and patience, you will make steady progress. Alternatively, a turtle indicates that you are sheltering yourself from the realities of life. You are putting forth a hard exterior and not letting others in. As a result, you are feeling withdrawn. To dream that you are being chased by a turtle indicates that you are hiding behind a facade, instead of confronting the things that are bothering you.
Because I was following the turtle and not chasing it, the last meaning, "hiding behind a facade", is eliminated. When it comes to relationship, I and my husband are so close and we´re very compatible, we hardly have issues in out marriage. We do argue, but nothing that we can´t fix before the day ends.
The first meaning, that turtle symbolizes wisdom, faithfulness, longevity, and loyalty, applies to me. I keep searching for wisdom. I´m also faithful and loyal to my husband, my family, and friends.
But given that the turtle which I relied my safety on left me, I figure that my dream takes the third meaning, that I am putting forth a hard exterior and not letting others in. I find this quite true to me at the moment. There are people in my life right now who are literally living close to me whom I don´t want to be close with because of some reasons. I feel that being too close to them results to the invasion of my privacy, so I keep a distance.
This dream is quite interesting because this is the first time that I´ve dreamed of turtle. It leaves me with so much to ponder upon.

Dream Interpretation: Fresh, Green Leaves
I know when a dream´s worth interpreting because it sticks in my head all day. Just like one of the many dreams I dreamed last night. I saw these very fresh and green tiny leaves in my hands, they´re rounded in shape.
According to my dream, they were very special leaves. They couldn´t be found anywhere on Earth but under it. I saw myself digging the ground until I found little tunnels where the leaves have enough space to grow, I was actually wondering where they get oxygen.
The dream ended with me enjoying the sight of the very green leaves on both my palms, I was standing somewhere in the forest.
Being a dream interpretation addict as I am, I googled today what the leaves meant on my dream. I found out that healthy and fresh leaves denote happiness and wonderful improvement in your business. While withered leaves, indicate false hopes and gloomy forebodings will harass your spirit into a whirlpool of despondency and loss.
These findings fueled me with inspirations. Is something good awaits my thriving business? But on the other hand, another interpretation said that leaves can also denote achievements you had during the day. And I´m like, Oh, no! I had actually a very productive day before the dream, I´ve worked for my business even it´s a Sunday, I´ve cleaned the house and did almost all the ironing. But it can´t be the dream, is it?

Dream Interpretation: Yummy Grilled Fish
I´m not sure if I really miss some Filipino delicacies but last week, I guess Thursday dawn, I was dreaming of big fish being grilled. It wasn´t pure charcoal but instead woods´fire (on the ground) and its charcoal that grilled the fish. As far as I can remember there were like about four fish in different sizes and as they turned crispy black and red, they looked very tasty.
I was salivating and was waiting that the fish get completely cooked so I could eat, but somewhere at the distance there were some interruptions that made me doubt if I could eat the fish once they´re done. And then the alarm clock rang ... I woke up and the fish were gone.
Because I´m into dream interpretation, I´m trying to figure out what the dream meant, given that it really stuck in me. So far here are the dream meanings I found online:
- a grilled or poached fish might represent hospitality or providing for others (From here)
- Tender grilled fish: (1) Gains and benefits, in view of the story of Jesus Christ and the fish. (2) Prayers will be heard. (From here)
Usually it takes weeks or sometimes months before that meaning unfolds, so once i do find out the real meaning, I´ll update this post.

An Old Love Re-Visited Me in Dream
The subject of my poem, "Someone from My Past", visited me in a dream once again. He was a best friend whom for a long time I cared for but whom I was never able to express my love to, verbally at least.
The entire period of time that we´re together, I didn´t even admit to myself that what I felt for him was indeed, love. With all the care and love that he showered me, unconsciously I felt that he cared for me more than just a friend. And quite embarrassing as it is now to think about, back then I always thought we would somehow end up together.
But we didn´t ...
Sure, I married my best friend but he´s not the first best friend whom I loved when I was young. I married someone who I met many years later, when I was already done crying for the loss of that first love because he married someone else when I was away, when he thought I abandoned him, when we didn´t have any contact, and when I was in fact strugling for my life and survival alone in a foreign land. But him, he decided to marry someone else without waiting for me, without looking for me.
It was true love gone with the distance and without communication. But it was so over many years ago. Seven years in particular. I´m now happily married, so blessed with my husband. A year after my marriage that first love found me in facebook and added me there. Through his photos I learned that he´s now living happily with his wife, two step children, and three children of his own.
So why did I dream about him again last night? Why do I dream about him every after few months in the first place?
In the dream I saw my husband and the first love. I asked permission to my husband if I and my best friend could talk privately, he said "yes", so I and the best friend went to look for a vacant room. It was like an apartment and we were in the second floor. All rooms were occupied so while standing on the stairs, we thought to go down to the first floor and look for a room there where we could have privacy to talk. There were so many things to talk about, so many questions to ask.
It was a flood of familiar feelings, excitement of seeing him again, missing him, and joy of being able to talk to him again, and hope that finally we could put closure to that old good story.
But when we reached the first floor we ended up in a hall full of people, there was a party and a band was playing on stage. Somebody grabbed him and asked if he could play the guitar with the band. He looked like he´d say "No" but the person who was pulling him was persistent. He was a good guitarist and the crowd wanted him to play for them.
He wasn´t able to utter anything before he was drown in the crowd. I didn´t know if he wanted to say, "I´ll be back.", "I´ll be quick." or "Just go ahead." Standing in the dark I waited, trying to figure out what he wanted to tell me, deciding if i should stay and wait for him or should I go. I wasn´t even sure if he would still come back to speak to me.
After a little while I decided, if he really wanted to speak to me, he shouldn´t have left me. He should have pushed away from the crowd and stood beside me so we could look for a room. But he left me, he went with the crowd.
As the dream faded away, I knew I left the partying crowd and went back to my husband who was patiently waiting for me upstairs.

I dreamed of great white shark attacking me, I need dream interpretation
![]() |
I woke up. I got off my bed and went to the toilet to pee, sleepily pondering my dream. The feeling of fear was still very strong. I said a quick prayer in my mind when I went back to sleep. There was one person that immediately came to my mind while I thought of the shark, that person is not the student in my dream.
When I slept back I had again very interesting dream. There was a sort of retreat for people and students that I seem to know. There were lots of them. The group stopped for a swim in a somewhat akin to a lake. Everyone went down to the water, each carrying a fish of different size, some small, some big, to feed the big sharks that are in the water. There were lots of laughing; everyone seemed to have fun feeding all the vicious sharks. I was standing on a rock beside the lake, watching and wondering if it’s safe for the people.
When all the fish were spent everyone hurried to climb up to the edge of two rocky platforms in each side of the lake. The sharks were after them. Both kids and adults all ran for their safety, terrified by the beasts that chased them. Everyone escaped safely except for one man. His right foot was bitten by a shark before he was able to hop on the rock. I saw him froze; only the upper part of his body was visible while the lower half was still in the water. Then I saw his face winced. Somebody pulled him out of the water. I saw his bleeding footless leg.
That’s weird isn’t it? When you wake up from a very terrifying dream then sleep back just to have it continued? I saw just too many sharks in one night.
So the moment I got up this morning I googled for the dream interpretation of shark. And here’s what I got. According to Deanna Joseph of Dreams Site:
Predators
Sharks may represent predators or predatory situations in waking life. This can be a person, a relationship, or even a job situation that feels as if it is taking a serious toll on your life. Look at your waking life and see if there is a situation that feels predatory.
Danger
A similar interpretation is that of a dangerous situation. The shark may come into one's dream as an omen, a warning that one is in deep water, in over one's head, and that the results of continuing on may be disastrous.
Emotion
Animals in dreams often stand in for parts of one's self. As underwater creatures, sharks may represent deep emotions hidden in the unconscious. Since many people associate negatively with sharks, the shark may represent negative emotional states such as frenzied anger or resentment. The shark may be symbolic of the destruction these emotions can bring about if not recognized and dealt with.
The shark, especially if it is chasing you, may represent emotions that feel irrational and uncontrollable. Similarly, the shark may be standing in as a "shadow" symbol - parts of one's self that one is not acknowledging.

The wonder of dream interpretation

I started paying attention to my dreams when I entered the University. At first year, I became aware that some of my dreams were symbolical and that they carried some special messages. During the time, I spent hours thinking and trying to decode the dreams that I had but usually, it took me months to understand what the dream meant and only if I am confronted with the actual meaning of the dream.
I applied some biblical symbols in interpreting my dreams and later, I was able to identify the meaning of some of the dream symbols myself. From the biblical interpretations for example, the water means people while air means war. The snake in the Bible symbolizes Satan, and related to it; snakes in my dreams symbolize trials or problems. The size of the snake, its number, its behavior and how it ends up in my dream is crucial in interpreting. Was I able to kill the snake? Was I bitten? Or was I able to run away? If I dreamt of water – salt or land water, I look at its behavior as well. Is it calm? Is it turbulent? Is it deep? Is it chasing me? Are there fish coming out? Fish would then represent a particular individual or individuals out from the group of people. And every time I interpret my dream, it happens.
Thus, I started reading a lot about dream interpretation and was amazed to discover more wonders in dreams. I recorded some of the significant dream symbols that I had that proved to carry essential warnings to me.
Mushroom: I saw myself eating a big umbrella-like boiled mushroom with soup. I checked the meaning of the dream and it said, “To eat them denotes that you will be humiliated and disgraced by love.” Not long after I had the dream, the guy that I was with proved to be a wrong choice.
Fire: I saw a small fire grew big and consumed my parents’ kitchen. I tried to stop the fire by fanning it but the fire just grew bigger. I checked the meaning of the fire and specifically in my parents’ place and it said “that my family and siblings are doing well in their endeavors and that there will be a significant progress in financial status.” Four months later, I was informed that my mom opened a retail store and my sister a whole sale store and that money was quick. My brother-in-law landed a job with good salary while my brothers in the university are doing well in the fields they chose. One brother even earned a scholarship and he is a 100percent free tuition.
There are still many dreams recorded in my diary that proved to be good warnings and some of them are very personal. While going through my dream diary one day, I came up with an idea. I took a pad and a pen and in an hour, I came up with a very beautiful poem. If you love dream interpretation, you are welcome to interpret my poem.
Broken Dreams
It lurked behind the sun, watching
Waiting for the curtains to close,
When all dogs finished their dinner and
All vendors took their last satang.
At last it succumbed the entire city,
Spirits drifted up and down their sleep.
The shriek of silence so deafening
Darkness!
Underneath the soft cotton blankets,
Beside the silky pillows and
The hugs of plush toys,
A soul was fully awake.
Could anyone free her from those barricades?
Her hands struggled for freedom
But her wrists were tied.
She screamed for help but no one heard
The joyful song of the river swallowed her screams
The same soul stood above the waves.
Balancing, longing to cross to the other edge.
She dug squared fox holes deep down the ground,
But couldn’t find what she was looking for.
She needed to wash her hands,
But everywhere were glasses of wine.
Yet before anything could besiege her;
A whirlwind of fog surrounded her.
She focused her blurred vision, a figure.
Clad in white panama shirt
His long white trousers touched his feet
Every time he stepped;
His long eye lashes were very beautiful,
His full lips curved in a smile, inviting.
The gleams in his eyes hid their color
But wisdom they did mirror.
They trailed along side the beach.
Little breezes crept over polished water;
Ran towards the sand in lazy cottons
And touched their feet.
Birds were flying above their heads;
Flashed up and down in happy songs.
Hand in hand they beheld the beauty
Of their new found paradise.
But then birds’ songs turned into witch-like cries;
Echoed one after another.
Bright colors turned into gray
When from the water a predator
Came out hungry for prey.
In her own eyes, the violent whale took him away.
With tear-blind eyes she bowed,
His spectacles in her hands.
Her hands were free! They’ve been freed!
She jerked to run after him. She needed him back.
But lo! Her feet were bounded with chains.
The fire, hungry like a devil,
Crept along the branches;
Consumed the trunk of the towering mango tree,
Determined to reach the fruits.
She watched the healthy fruits gave in,
Breaking!
